The Clove experience centre was designed to showcase the multi-phased, master-planned redevelopment of The Cloverdale Mall, embracing a vision rooted in the timeless charm of West Coast midcentury modern design. This stylistic choice pays homage to the mall’s origins in the mid-1950s, a unique example of midcentury mall design. Drawing inspiration from this heritage and the triangular architectural form of Phase 1, the space comes alive with natural wood, rattan, and cane, seamlessly blending with curved furniture and architectural details—most strikingly, the scalloped ceiling at reception and breeze wall partition in between reception and community scale model areas. Geometric patterns, vibrant pops of color, and botanical accents punctuate the design, embodying hallmarks of this iconic aesthetic.
