This bespoke residence for long time clients grew from their desire for an atypical layout; a home which reveals itself slowly, inspires curiosity and creates a journey from room to room. Contemporized neo-classical detailing, mix with bold, graphic marble work, sinuous curves and grand proportions to create a playfully modern take on a Euro-inspired city home. From the entry hall featuring a custom stone mantle, guests glimpse a view of the staircase as it snakes upward forming a paneled double story space. The study, accessed from the first of two stair landings, is marked by an exaggerated door and casing statement using quarter cut walnut veneer in a starburst pattern and abstract cast bronze hardware, offering the first signs that this home is something out of the ordinary. Bronze, brass and warm silvers reflect light and glamour while inlaid oak floors and contrasting marblework mingle with white lacquer, ebonized oak millwork, and reeded glass. The home is unabashedly confident, warm and full of charm.
